Years Playing Ball: 12
Biggest accomplishment: My biggest accomplishment in life thus far is a combination of things I have been able to be a part of with baseball. I was able to represent our province on numerous occasions, including stints with Youth Selects and Canada Games. Playing for PEI gave me the opportunity to become Atlantic MVP and also Junior Male Athlete of the Year for PEI. Somewhere along the line, I was also able to earn a small scholarship, and get a chance to play in Pennsylvania at a college, a lifelong dream of mine. Basically, what it boils down to is that my biggest accomplishment was picking up a baseball, as it has lead to great opportunities and a ton of memories. Reason for playing in this event: One of the organizers, Rick Thistle, coaches the team I play for in the KCBL, the Charlottetown Cannons. He mentioned what the plans were for this, and I jumped at the opportunity. My grandmother is a cancer survivor, and I have the outmost pride knowing that someone so close to me has that kind of strength and determination. This game helps out a fantastic cause, along with sounding like a fun time to be with friends and be a part of something really special.
About Me:
I am from Pooles Corner, PEI, and since I turned 8 years old my mind has never drifted too far from the ball field. I love to play other sports as well, including hockey, football, and lacrosse. When not playing something of that sort, I enjoy hanging out with friends and family. I can't wait to see the crowds that we draw for this, and I hope we are able to send a lot of money in the right direction, while getting to have a blast playing something we all love.
We are the best you will find. We are the cockiest, dirtiest, most irresponsible group of athletes on the planet. We maintain that a diet of sunflower seeds, skoal, and beer is just enough nutrition to keep us in prime physical condition. From the second we step on the diamond, we start dreaming of playing in the bigs. We'll live that dream 'till we're 90 if it means still having the desire to put the glove on. We compete like no other: To find out how enjoyable of a summer we had, don't ask us. Just look at our W/L and the stats. Our life can and will be put on hold for the following: A no-hit bid, a possible shot at perfection, or the entire month of October. We are in some ways envied, other ways feared, but in every way possible, we are RESPECTED. We are INTELLIGENT, COMMITED, and STRONG. And if you don't know us, you don't know the meaning of heart.
