WE DID IT!! 96 Hours 4 Minutes!!

July 1st, 2008

With the event starting out with drizzle, then light showers, then rain, to an eventual monsoon the players battled through and kept playing.

This was not an easy task. Going into this game a lot of people seriously did not know what they were getting themselves into. How does someone prepare for something they never participated in? Blisters, Bruises, Shin Splints, Aching Bones, Twisted ankles, Fatigue, Migraines, Hunger, Sunburns, and worst of all - a line drive causing a light concussion forcing a hospital visit.

A question that was asked of us frequently all weekend by reporters, interviewers and fans was, "What is motivating you to do this and continue with all of the weather and injuries?" At the time when asked that question my (Troy Fraser) response was, "Cancer Research, Guinness Book of World Records". Now that I look back and have the chance to think about it more clearly, my answer to that question is..39 other dedicated players who are not going to give up. There are many reasons that motivated us as individuals, but during the game I could honestly speak for everyone and say it was each other that kept us going and motivated to continue!

To our fans, supporters, and volunteers! Thank You! You have no idea how much your help and support was appreciated. Just knowing you were there to help us made a big difference!

Thank You!

Last day before the First Pitch

June 25th, 2008

Players get ready! Here we go, it's the last day before we attempt to break a Guinness Book of World Records. All players are to report to the field @ 5pm sharp to prepare for a 7pm start.

Spirits are high and the anticipation is building as we prepare ourselves mentally and physically to attempt a 96 hour Softball game in efforts to raise money for the PEI Cancer Society. We are trying to put ourselves in the frame of mind as if we are already playing. What will we need to bring with us? What will we forget? How does one prepare for something they have never taken part in before? These are just some of the questions we have asked ourselves in preparation for this event.

With so much on every player's mind and thoughts racing a mile a minute, we want to thank all of our sponsors who have given their services to us through food donations, money and professional help. Without your support we could not make this happen.

Fans! We need you to come down to the field and cheer us on. This is not a professional group of players, you will not see double plays or in the park home runs. We are trying to go the distance and by doing that we will make a lot of errors on the field, we will try our best to not get hurt! We need your support, cheers and eyes in the crowd!

Central Field - Thursday June 30th @ 7pm right through to Monday June 30th @ 7pm. Located behind Charlottetown Rural.

Darrell Fox and the Fight Against Cancer

June 22nd, 2008

From Left to Right: Darrell Fox, Rick Thistle, Scott Chandler, Mark Johnston.

As we prepare to start our own "Marathon of Hope" (96 Hours of Softball June 26th @ 7pm), Darrell Fox lends his support to us as he knows how hard his brother Terry worked to battle Cancer and helping raise awareness by running everyday on his journey across Canada.

Thank You Terry for your inspiration!
